Chris Hemsworth (born 11 August 1983) is an Australian actor best known for playing the role of Kim Hyde in the Australian soap opera Home and Away and the Marvel Comics character Thor in Thor. Hemsworth will portray Thor again in the upcoming film The Avengers.

Hemsworth was born and raised in Melbourne, the son of Leonie and Craig Hemsworth. He later moved to Phillip Island, south of Melbourne, with his family. His older brother Luke and younger brother Liam Hemsworth are also actors, and have had recurring roles as Nathan Tyson and Josh Taylor on Neighbours, respectively. Hemsworth attended Heathmont Secondary College in Melbourne.
Personal life of Chris Hemsworth:
Hemsworth is married to Spanish actress Elsa Pataky, whom he met through their mutual representative in early 2010. They made their relationship public at a party held by LACMA in Los Angeles September 25, 2010, and were married three months later.

This is the summer of the ogled, super-buff superhero, and Chris Hemsworth had to bulk up so much for Thor that his own costume began to choke the life out of him. "They kept saying 'Yeah, get as big as you can, as big as you can,'" he explained to the L.A. Times. "And then I came back right before Christmas, just before we started the movie, and had a final sort of camera test and put the costume on and within a couple of minutes, my hands started going numb. And everyone was like, 'Yeah, that's not cool.' And I started getting pins and needles and you'd touch the skin and the blood wouldn't return to that area so quick. And I thought, 'OK, it doesn't fit.'" Or maybe they're just making superhero outfits too tight all of a sudden?
